4-H Horse Show held Sunday, August 21 prior to Manistee County Fair Week. 4-H Horse Show Rules
Like horses? Like kids?
Well ……. come to the Manistee-Benzie 4-H Summer Horse Show held at the Manistee County Fairgrounds in Onekama.
But you must be a registered Manistee-Benzie 4-H Member to participate.
There is no charge and no membership necessary to come and watch the action!
The Onekama Lions Club Food Wagon will be on site. NO alcohol is allowed on site for this event.
We welcome all donations to help support these great riders and these 4-H Horse Shows. We will gladly award copious amounts of ‘horse apples’ to all donors! So BYOB – bring your own bucket!
Current Coggins Test Papers are required. Points earned at prior Shows will count toward overall high point trophy which will be awarded at the 4-H Horse Show held Sunday, August 21 prior to Manistee County Fair Week. 4-H Horse Show Rules
2011 HEALTH REQUIREMENTS FOR LIVESTOCK EXHIBITED IN MICHIGAN
Each process of fair registration has been included in the categories below
“2011 EXHIBITOR INFORMATION”: Please read this document carefully, as it contains registration dates, eligibility for departments and classes, etc. The left column is for Open Class Exhibitors. The right column is for 4-H Class Exhibitors.
“2011 RULES FOR EXHIBITORS”: Important information about judging, premiums, health requirements, fees, and more.
4-H CLASS
“2011 4-H CLASS MANISTEE FAIR BOOK”: The actual book is GREEN. These departments are intended for 4-H youth, but non-livestock and certain companion animal classes are also open to non-4-Hers. A 4-H Fair Book has been reserved for each Manistee and Benzie 4-H member and leader associated with the Manistee County Fair. They have been labeled with your first/last name and are available at the Extension office.
“2011 4-H CLASS COVER SHEET”: Required for all 4-H exhibitors (except 4-H Cloverbuds, see below). Pay attention to the departments you have entries in. The cover sheet tells you what supporting documents or statements are required for each department or activity. Complete in BLUE or BLACK ink – in case we need to make copies later. Attach all class numbers worksheets and other required documents to the cover sheet.
“2011 4-H CLASS CLASS #’s WORKSHEET”: Required for all 4-H exhibitors (except 4-H Cloverbuds, see below). Use your fair book as a reference. Circle all the class numbers you plan to exhibit in. Complete in BLUE or BLACK ink – in case we need to make copies later.
“2011 4-H CLOVERBUD REGISTRATION”: To be used by 4-H members under the age of 9, or non-4-H members of the same age who are exhibiting in 4-H classes where eligible. Please use the Cloverbud Registration Sheet. Pay attention to the departments you have entries in. This sheet will tell you what supporting documents or statements are required for each department or activity. Complete this sheet as it applies to you. You do not need to complete a Class Numbers Worksheet, as your Cloverbud Registration Sheet contains all that is necessary.
ALL 4-H EXHIBITORS:
OTHER DOCUMENTS: Depending on what you are exhibiting, livestock and horse and have additional documents. These are available below. Your registration cover sheet will tell you what you need.
ALL EXHIBITORS: Attach all necessary paperwork/documents to the Cover Sheet that applies to you. MAKE SURE YOUR NAME IS ON ALL PAGES AND STAPLE OR CLIP PAGES TOGETHER.
You may submit your completed registration in the following ways:
In person - there will be a drop box inside the front entrance of the MSU Extension Office. We also have an outside drop box - at the driveway entrance, it’s the mailbox with green clovers painted on it. We will check it regularly throughout fair registration.

Last day/time for any registration assistance by phone, e-mail, or in person is Friday, June 24, 2011, 4:00p.m.
Last day to submit all fair registration material is Friday, June 24, 2011, 5:00p.m. Those who want to add additional exhibits in non-livestock and companion animal classes will have a chance to do so at the Manistee County Fair Office from July 25 thru August 20 (call ahead for hours 889-5566).
